Cloud options for Bamboo
Atlassian has developed Bitbucket for the cloud which contains functionality where Bamboo keeps the server version. Bitbucket Pipelines & Deployments is an integrated CI/CD that helps you automate code from test to production and this is only available as a Cloud solution. This means that if you choose cloud services, you can still use a CI/CD solution if you want.

Bamboo Data Center
If you currently use Bamboo Server (which goes end-of-life in February 2024), cannot move to the cloud, and want a product that is well integrated with other Atlassian applications, you should definitely explore Bamboo DC.

Bamboo DC can either be run as a “single-node” just like a normal server installation, or clustered with multiple nodes that provide load balancing and traffic distribution, which in itself results in higher availability and performance that scales over time.

There are also three brand new features in Bamboo DC:

Build resilience
If a Bamboo DC instance goes down, the results of the builds that were in progress are not lost. These are allowed to continue as the build agents wait for the server to return and then deliver the results, logging artifacts, etc. back to the server.
Cold standby high availability
Enables disaster recovery and reduces downtime by introducing an automated failover process. In the event of an interruption, not only will the builds and work be saved, but load balancers will also sense that the active instance is no longer alive, start up a “cold instance” and control all traffic. With shared file system, the new instance will continue all work where it previously left off.
Project level build resources
Generally improves security and maintainability as fewer people need administrative privileges to manage their projects. The resources consist of shared tasks for authentication, repositories and project-specific variables, which allows higher isolation between these resources and the possibility to delegate responsibility to teams for the respective projects in Bamboo DC.
