devsum 25-26 maj 2023

On May 25-26, DevSum was held in Stockholm and our employees Linus Larsson and Erik Ellingsson were there

The event gave the opportunity to choose from a large selection of sessions, which made it possible to choose something that suits you and your own development. DevSum describes the event in technology and development as a source of inspiration for you as a participant, something our employees have truly become.

During the DevSum days, they have taken part in the latest trends and gathered their knowledge to bring back to Arctic Group. On site you could find majority of speakers and experts in areas such as web development, software architecture, AI and machine learning, people and teams, programming languages and knowledge about the cloud. Some of the methods and technology presented were in line with what we have and have carried out at Arctic Group. For our colleague Linus, the event provided lots of interesting information. Everything from the philosophy behind IT architecture, mentoring, motivation and discipline, authentication to how to choose the right technologies and much more. Linus says that what gave the most of the stay, were the thoughts and reflections that were added during and after the event.

Much of what was presented was things I already had a feeling about but which I did not reflect on carefully. I am more reflective and will be able to take that into my role as both IT consultant and developer, says Linus.

Erik continues about really good tracks around Architecture and leadership at the conference and not least the gold medalist Nils van der Poel’s inspiring lecture “My weakest link”.

DevSum started the first day with a presentation by Mona Riabacke who talked about decision-making and how we humans deal with it. An area that generally differs between both customers and colleagues and can be difficult to raise and talk about depending on the organization and culture you work in.

What we can conclude is that our colleagues Linus and Erik are very satisfied with the decision to have attended DevSum and returned to Arctic Group and their projects with both motivation and inspiration!
