Identity solutions of the future: Insights from UNITE 2025

Future identity solutions require more than technology – they require collaboration, transparency and an ecosystem where partners build value together.
Last week, Arctic Group attended UNITE, an annual conference organized by our product provider One Identity, for their partners and customers. The conference offered a lot of insights and lessons learned – here are some of our key reflections.
UNITE gave us a clear picture of how One Identity is evolving, both technically and strategically. One of the highlights was the presentation of the Identity Manager Roadmap, where we saw how One Identity manages to combine continued support for on-prem solutions with a clear SaaS focus. This flexibility is crucial for customers who are in a digital transformation phase.
UNITE was not just about technology. It was clear that customer experience, accessibility and business relevance are key themes. This was particularly evident in the focus on the midmarket – a segment where we in the Nordic region see both great need and great potential, says Anders Rönnquist, CRO at Arctic Group.
The role of AI in the future of identity management
One of the most exciting aspects of the conference was how AI is now also being integrated into identity management. AI-powered role analysis and behavior-based governance are examples of how the technology can be used to improve security and reduce the risk of improper access. By analyzing user behavior, AI can identify anomalies and potential threats in real time, providing a proactive security strategy. In addition, AI can help automate and optimize processes, reducing the time and resources required to maintain the security and functionality of systems.
AI is key to creating a secure and efficient identity management. By analyzing user behavior and identifying anomalies in real time, we can proactively manage risks and threats, creating a robust digital environment, says Marcus Ström, Tech Lead at Arctic Group.
Identity Fabric & integration
Identity Fabric was a recurring theme and One Identity offers a unique range of products that can be easily integrated – both with each other and with other systems. They are built to work out-of-the-box (OOTB), simplifying both implementation and use. By offering a coherent solution, businesses can benefit from more efficient and secure identity management.
Regulatory requirements drive investment
NIS2 and DORA are increasing the demands on businesses to invest in IAM. It’s no longer just about efficiency and security, now there are major consequences if companies cannot comply with the new laws. Identity management has become a critical component of protecting assets and meeting regulatory requirements. This makes IAM a critical area to ensure compliance and avoid potential sanctions. Companies must now prioritize identity management to not only protect their assets but also to meet the strict regulatory requirements.
Investing in IAM is no longer a choice, but a necessity to ensure compliance and protect the company from potential sanctions, says Anders Ihs, CTO at Arctic Group.
Modernization and User-friendliness
A modern and user-friendly web portal is essential to ensure that users can take full advantage of the system’s capabilities and functions. Improving the interface and functionality will make it easier for users to navigate and use the system effectively. This modernization will provide users with a more intuitive and responsive experience, which in turn will increase productivity and reduce the need for support.
