Ludwig’s journey into tech – from writing code to tackling cybersecurity and real-world projects

    From classroom to real-world code
Making the leap from theory to practice can feel like a big step. But for Ludwig Sandberg, who recently graduated with a degree in Information Systems from Luleå University of Technology, the transition felt seamless—thanks to his role as a “Karriärstol” (Career Chair) at Arctic Group.

The first time I heard about Arctic Group was at the LITA fair at LTU. I met previous Career Chairs and immediately felt a connection. As soon as I got home from the fair, I went straight online and applied for the position, says Ludwig.

A passion for tech and app development
In his free time, Ludwig enjoys hanging out with friends, working out, and playing golf. His interest in technology, computers, and programming has been with him for years—and at Arctic Group, he’s had the chance to put his skills to the test in real-world projects.

Right now, I’m working on a time-tracking app. I’ve been programming apps and websites as a hobby for several years, so working in development feels like a natural fit. But I’ve also had the chance to explore IGA and cybersecurity through SailPoint—it’s a completely new and incredibly educational world.

He especially highlights the overall perspective of the development process as something he didn’t fully gain from his studies.

In school, you get the theoretical part, but the hands-on experience comes here. I’ve learned that development is about so much more than just writing code—it’s about the user perspective, testing, deployment. You gain a completely different understanding of the profession.

    Team spirit and togetherness
For Ludwig, the social aspect has been just as important as the technical one.

The best part is the team spirit. Everyone is responsible for their part of the project, but we always help each other out when someone gets stuck. We have regular check-ins to stay aligned and get the full picture, and it works really well. The culture is amazing, and several of my colleagues have even become friends I hang out with outside of work.

An employer that welcomes young talent
For Ludwig, Arctic Group’s greatest strength as an employer is clear:

They give young developers the chance to get a foot in the door while still studying. Not many companies do that—and it makes a huge difference.

And what would he say to someone considering applying?

Apply to Arctic Group! Whether you’re a student or already graduated, it’s a fantastic place to work—you won’t regret it!

At Arctic Group, we believe in giving young talents the opportunity to grow, be challenged, and find their place in the tech world.
