Three decades of relationships and growth, and we continue the journey

It all started in Piteå in 1996 with one office, four founders and a strong belief that technology, when used right, can make a real difference.Since then, Arctic Group has grown from a local IT company in northern Sweden into an established player in identity security and is now part of an international venture. While much has changed over the past 30 years, one thing remains constant: it is the people who have built the company.
Since then, Arctic Group has grown from a local IT company in northern Sweden into an established player in identity security and is now part of an international venture. While much has changed over the past 30 years, one thing remains constant: it is the people who have built the company.
The foundation: trust and critical systems
When the company was founded by Mats Andersson, Göran Löwkrantz, Peter Borg and Jan-Ove Högberg, it was originally called Infologigruppen and from an early stage focused on working closely with critical societal functions. Assignments within Customs and Telecom placed high demands on security, stability and trust. It was in these environments that the foundation was laid for what would later become one of the company’s key areas of focus.
As early as 2000, work began on securing identities and access, long before the concept of Identity Security had become widely established in the industry. The initiative was driven by the company’s CEO, Anders Lundkvist, with a clear vision of creating structure and control in a rapidly growing digital environment. At the time, the focus was on ensuring that the right person had the right access at the right time. Today, it is one of the most business-critical issues for organizations worldwide.
A culture that has always endured
As the company grew and established itself in Luleå in the early 2000s, it was not only the number of customers that increased. A culture began to take shape. A sense of doing things together and sharing both responsibility and everyday life. It could mean complex projects for large, well-known clients, but also a week in Bad Gastein in 2004, with skiing and laughter that brought the team even closer together. And that spirit has stayed throughout the entire journey. Humility, responsibility and a strong sense of team.
When Arctic Group took shape
In 2005, a natural next step was taken when Infologigruppen merged with Arctic Business Consulting and Arctic Group was born. A new name, a clearer direction and a broader offering, but still with the same core: technical excellence, close collaboration and a long-term perspective. The years that followed were marked by development, partnerships beyond Sweden and a continued deepening of expertise in complex systems, particularly in identity, access and security.
Investing in the future, for real
Over time, it became clear that talent development is not just about recruitment, but about building relationships early on. In 2015, Karriärstolen was launched, an initiative aimed at students at Luleå University of Technology. An opportunity to grow into the role of a consultant while the company continued to evolve. It reflects something essential about Arctic Group: the future is not built by individuals alone, but together.
New leadership and the next phase
In 2016, a new chapter began when Peter Nordlund stepped in as an owner, a shift that brought new energy and direction. The following year, in 2017, Arctic Group’s development continued under our current CEO, Fredrik Åström. With Fredrik, the company’s evolution moved further toward what is today a clearly defined core, packaged in a stronger offering and with a more distinct position in the market.
From specialist to thought leader
In recent years, development has accelerated even further. The pandemic in 2020 brought the world to a standstill, but also highlighted the strength of our culture. Despite the distance, the sense of togetherness remained, and flexibility and trust became essential for our team. When Arctic Group joined the Allurity group in 2021, the journey took a new direction once again, now as part of a larger European cybersecurity group, today consisting of 13 companies with more than 800 employees across Europe.
Here, Identity Security became not just a capability, but a clear focus area. The establishment of additional offices in Stockholm, Gävle and Sundsvall was followed by the next step: not only being part of the industry, but contributing close to our customers and staying at the forefront.
Together with our sister company ID North, we founded Identity Day in Stockholm, an event where knowledge, experience and the future of identity security are at the forefront. A way of bringing together colleagues across the industry, partners and customers around what is today one of the most important issues in our rapidly evolving digital world.
Recognition of the journey and a standout year
2025 became more than just another successful year. It became a testament to everything built over three decades. During the year, Arctic Group was recognized with several awards that together say something important about who we are and where we are heading. We were named a Career Company, ranked among the top 10 for Women in Tech, continued as a DI Gasell company and were recognized as a Retention Company.
These achievements are the result of long-term efforts where expertise, culture and business go hand in hand. Being an attractive employer, growing sustainably and creating an environment where people want to stay, develop and contribute. And perhaps most importantly, doing so without losing what has always been at our core. The humility, the team spirit and the sense of responsibility in every engagement.
Where we are today and the next step together
Today, Arctic Group consists of more than 70 employees across four offices in Sweden. But right now, it’s not just about where we are, it’s about where we are headed. We are now taking a decisive step in our development. Arctic Group and our sister company ID North are taking a strategic step by joining forces to shape the next chapter of identity security in the Nordics.
It is a natural step. Over several years, we have built strong and complementary offerings within Identity Security, and now we are creating something bigger and stronger together as one company, says Fredrik Åström, CEO of Arctic Group.
As part of the Allurity group, there is also a clear direction forward: to build Europe’s most comprehensive offering within cybersecurity. The ambition is clear, to support organizations throughout their entire journey, from strategy and analysis to implementation, operations and managed services, with a unified strength and an even sharper offering.
The reason is simple, identity has become the core of modern security and in a short time has become one of the most critical aspects of cybersecurity. Protecting who has access to what and when is now essential for creating control, reducing risk and building long-term resilience.
30 years, and the beginning of the next chapter
Since 1996, a lot has changed, but one thing remains the same: the commitment to take responsibility, to evolve and to do it together. 30 years is not the end of our journey, it is the beginning of the next. Be safe with us, now and for the next 30 years.
